Areas of My Expertise

I am a solo public defense attorney licensed by the state of Oregon and certified by OPDC, and most of my work involves defending indigent clients accused of crimes by the state of Oregon.  

However, I have passions and hobbies beyond lawyer work too:  Many people ask me, "How can you defend THOSE people?????" which annoys me because the question assumes that THOSE people are factually guilty, which is far from true.  Furthermore, even if THOSE people were 100% factually guilty (which again is not true), I operate from a place believing that all people are deserving of mercy, grace, and love.  Which brings me to my hobbies.  

I love to write computer programs or apps, work on my nuclear fallout bunker, make YouTube videos, and to pursue recreational aviation for fun.  People are not one dimensional.  We are more than our profession and we are more than the worst thing we've ever done.  To make extra pocket money, I also provide landlord-tenant advice and representation in landlord-tenant court, sell my apps, and sell seats in my bunker in the event of a nuclear apocolypse.  I am a passionate, driven attorney, but more than that, I am a passionate, driven human in a world scarred by trauma.  Have compassion for yourself too!
